Lavasa has signed an agreement with the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST), UK, to establish a residential school. The GDST is the largest group of independent schools in England and Wales and the UK's largest educational charity. Its school in Lavasa will be a co-educational school for over 1,000 pupils, the majority of whom will also board there. Commencing with grades seven to nine, it will offer students a choice of diplomas including the ICSC (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) and International A Levels. The school also intends to offer the International Baccalaureate in future.
Symbiosis will commence classes on their 60 acre campus by 2009 with a range of management and post graduate programmes.
With intake planned from 2009, Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, unarguably one of the world’s best hospitality schools is assisting in the development of a similar campus at Lavasa.
MOU with the Institute of International Business Relations (IBR), the premier business school in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and a part of the University of Berlin. Commencing in 2009, their International Executive MBA will use Lavasa as its base in India. This program takes about 40 students around the world as part of the curriculum, thereby exposing them to different cultures and business models.
An agreement has been signed with NSHM – Knowledge Campus, Kolkata to establish India’s first Retail, Media & Thinking Management University at Lavasa. This University will be set up in association with the Retailers Association of India (RAI). The University is scheduled to commence operations from the academic year 2010.
