Bamboosa - Lavasa Bamboocrafts Limited
With 125 different species, India possesses nearly 45% of the global bamboo reserves. The valley of Lavasa itself is home to
6 species of Bamboo, giving Lavasa an insight to come up with a bamboo workshop which would utilise these resources in
a sustainable and fruitful manner to generate self economy within the place.
Lavasa Bamboocrafts Limited, being set in association with Konbac, the daughter concern of INBAR (International Network for Bamboo and Rattan) has commenced operations at Mugaon in Lavasa. The workshop that is a First in India aims at promoting the use of bamboo in all its uses and would house over 65 workers. This initiative would also result in sustainable, low carbon emission.
The products manufactured in a state of the art bamboo craft factory would be sold by the name “Bamboosa” under 2 categories – Artifacts and Furniture. From sofa sets to rocking chairs and double beds to display shelves, a wide range of furniture would be manufactured. Products under artifacts would have clocks, trays, lamp shades, hangers etc.. With a tensile strength at par with steel, bamboo products are value-for-money, long lasting, eco friendly and beautiful.
