Lavasa celebrated the spirit of Independence

Republic day weekend at Lavasa – Spectacular 4 days of adventure , music , dance and entertainment powered by the pride for the nation was witnessed by 30,000 visitors in the city of Lavasa over the weekend ! The beautiful weather made the entire experience more mesmerizing.

The action packed weekend started on 23rd January with a band performance at the promenade accompanied by a colorful flea market. Crowd swayed to the foot tapping music and shopped their hearts out at the flea market. Music and Flea market continued for all 4 days.

Morning of 24th Jan started early with the hot air balloon activity. The Dasve hill top was an ideal place to get a majestic view of the city. As the balloon soared up in the sky people could get to see Lavasa in a new light. Famous cricketer and proud Lavasa resident Mr. Sandip Patil also enjoyed the balloon ride along with residents, students, villagers and channel partners who were visiting the city from Chandigarh , Surat and Nagpur.

While at the Fortune hotel lawns , the renowned mentalist Akshay Lakshman intrigued a crowd of 200 with his amazing acts of mind-reading, telepathy , predictions and mind-control. For a long time people were trying to analyze how he would have managed these acts and whether it was just tricks or were there any God-given powers involved.

Republic Day Cycle parade saw enthusiastic cyclists riding around the Dasve roads with tricolor flying high while live performance by the stars of the upcoming Marathi movie ‘Photocopy’ - Chetan Chitnis and Parna Pethe on the song from their movie ,made the visitors shake their legs. Winners of the contest ‘HappyAtLavasa’ got an opportunity to get into the balloon with Chetan and Parna during the round two of hot air balloon, location in the evening was the Dasve promenade. Visitors were also seen enjoying Segways, water-sports and delectable cuisines at the promenade restaurants.

The inclusive city had a wall painting activity with the Christel House children , Aashiana members and visitors on the 25th. They painted a social message “Think Globally Act Locally” on the wall near Hara Bazaar.

On 26th Jan , City Manager of Lavasa- Mr. Mukund Rathi unfurled the tri-color at the Public Safety Centre and motivated people by his speech, while Christel House also celebrated the day with flag hoisting and a ‘Cap Painting Competition’.
