Founded by a social entrepreneur, Christel DeHaan, Christel House provides education to economically underprivileged children. This remarkable institution helps students to break the cycle of economic disadvantage. It guides them in becoming self sufficient and contributing members of their societies. Christel House International builds and operates learning centers in impoverished neighborhoods of Mexico, Venezuela, South Africa, Indianapolis and India.

Christel House Lavasa was formally inaugurated on 10th November 2010 and the first academic year of this school commenced on July 2010.

In its first academic year, Christel House Lavasa has enrolled 180 students. The school has started with kindergarten to 2nd grade classes and it will be adding one grade per year up to grade 12. It can educate 780 students at full capacity. Christel House Lavasa has 8 class rooms and it will have 200 program days per year. To ensure a safe commute to the school, a free bus service has been started for the students. Christel House Lavasa will not only provide education but it will also ensure good nutrition and healthcare for these children.
